Graduates Profile and Description
Based on the vision and mission, the Bachelor of Information Systems program aims to produce graduates with the following profiles:
A) Information Systems Solutions Developer
Graduates of Information Systems should be able to provide effective and comprehensive information system solutions to organizations to help them achieve their goals. To do this, IS graduates should understand the fundamentals of organizational management and how information systems can assist in achieving organizational objectives. They should also be familiar with how to manage and leverage elements of information systems such as software, human resources, processes, procedures, information, and IT infrastructure as part of the information system solution.
IS graduates should be capable of understanding and modeling processes and data within organizations and possess knowledge of techniques for gathering system requirements and then modeling them. Furthermore, they should be proficient in managing data and information and maintaining data quality.
IS graduates should be able to define and implement technical solutions based on the issues that occur within an organization. These solutions can be achieved by applying technology to help achieve a competitive advantage within the organization.
B) Information Systems Business Enabler
IS graduates should be able to identify business opportunities by utilizing information technology and create process improvement solutions for organizational business optimization. This reflects entrepreneurial competence, including entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship.
Entrepreneurs mean that IS graduates can create new businesses in the field of information technology by utilizing technology, identifying business opportunities based on issues occurring in society, and formulating solutions packaged into financially profitable new businesses.
Intrapreneurial IS graduates will utilize information technology to improve organizational performance by creatively and innovatively solving problems or reengineering business processes. Business value enhancement can be achieved through the improvement of existing business processes within the company through the use of technology or effective management.
C) Information Systems Implementation Manager
IS graduates must have effective leadership qualities based on scientific thinking, ethics, and religious morals. The meaning of this profile more refers to having characteristics and the ability to act as a manager.
IS graduates should be able to solve problems and think critically, understand, map, and analyze problems using system concepts, and recognize that systems consist of humans, procedures, software, hardware, and data.
IS graduates should also have the ability to manage information system projects and integrate them into organizations, as well as adhere to the professional code of ethics in their work, including critically evaluating ethical issues in the implementation of information systems. The success of implementing information systems depends not only on the quality of the information system as a technological implementation but also on other factors such as user acceptance of the technology. IS graduates should be able to apply both new and conventional approaches to implementing information systems within organizations.
D) Communicator
IS graduates should be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. As IS graduates, they must persuasively disseminate and sell ideas or concepts to others, both within and outside the organization. Communication can be done through speaking and writing, and they must also be able to act as attentive listeners.
